HTC One S has been on sale on T-Mobile for months now, but (unfortunately) the black colored version hasn't been available across the Atlantic until today. Potential users will finally be able to pick up the device in black with red accents.
In order to please the overly patient, the Big Magenta currently offers the black version of the HTC One S for free after a mail-in rebate. In case you order it today, the carrier will also throw in a free case for you.

The New Nokia Lumia 830

Before you get too excited, the Nokia Lumia 830 will not be a beefier variant of the upcoming Lumia 820, but rather a smartphone successor to the Nokia Lumia 710. Given that no spec sheet was given, we're holding off on putting too much validity to that peculiar naming convention.

Microsoft is said to be working on 7-inch Xbox Surface gaming tablet

After the 10.6-inch Surface launched paving the way for Microsoft’s entry in tablets, the company is now said to be building a 7-inch gaming tablet named the Xbox Surface. Moreover, the hardware is in its final stages, and specs should concur with earlier leaks from June.

The rumor is that the 7-inch Xbox Surface will feature a custom-built ARM processor, and a high-bandwidth RAM specifically chosen for games.

However the Xbox Surface is allegedly being developed neutral to the hardware, and it could also be powered by an Intel chip.

Asus Google Nexus 7

The new Google nexus 7. See what one of our readers send us about this smartphone"
The real problem is the Nexus 7 is a totally enclosed tablet. Nobody seems to know (even Google Play help) how the SIM card is inserted or changed. On a phone there is an internal slot, typically near or under the battery, but the original Nexus 7 do.

LG Optimus L9

LG has been finding their design language over the past year, and the L9 builds on the angular, minimalist designs we’ve seen LG put out. The large 4.5” IPS display dominates, but there is also a slim physical home button below. Hidden capacitive back and menu keys flank the home button. The volume rocker and side power button are a bit smaller than we’d prefer and could be easier to find by touch. They don’t offer much travel or tactile feedback, but seem to work well enough.

Blackberry PlayBook 3G+

It was over a year ago now that the Smartphone market was filled with RIM's plans to release a 3G PlayBook, but it looks like it is finally here, popping up on the UK BlackBerry site. Of course, since then it's gone one better and delivered an LTE version, but if you're in the UK, and want a little PlayBook action with data to go, you can order one today. Much like its LTE sibling, it comes with 32GB of memory, and gets the same faster 1.5GHz processor too. (The original was 1.0GHz.) The kicker here? The price, at around £420 (about $690 by conversion) this is only £30 ($48) shy of Apple's 32GB WiFi and cellular iPad mini (at UK prices). On a positive note, while RIM might have had the 3G model lingering for some time, it did beat its own projections. But, with the UK now enjoying LTE, perhaps those interested in a PlayBook might campaign for the faster model to be added to the roster also.

Nokia N950 Smartphone

The N9 runs MeeGo, which as you likely know by now is the combination of Nokia's Maemo and Intel Moblin. MeeGo in smartphone form has something we've been waiting patiently for. The N9's industrial design looks nothing short of stunning, though all of the photos of the device so far appear to be renders and not actually physical hardware.

What's unique about the N9 is that the front of the device is buttonless, virtually everything is accomplished by tapping on the capacitive touchscreen, including unlocking the device. There's still volume, power, and camera buttons however.

HTC Opera UL could be the official Facebook phone

Facebook might be working on a Facebook phone after all, despite repeatedly denying any such plans. A reliable source told Pocket-lint that HTC is working on a device codenamed Opera UL.
The phone in question has appeared in the NenaMark2 results database and what we learn is the phone is powered by a 1.4GHz (probably dual-core) Krait processor with Adreno 305 graphics and sports an HD display. It's currently running on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

New iPad App Enables Mobile Loan Applications

This article is culled from American Bankers Websites:

Since the introduction of the first iPad in 2010 — and the tablet craze that's ensued ever since — the idea that secured loan officers and brokers could one day have the ability to take loan mortgage applications with mobile technology has been a concept that's held much promise. But it's also mired in a belief that widespread use of tablets is a distant evolution for an industry that's notoriously slow at adopting new innovations.

Now, on the heels of the much-anticipated release of Apple's third-generated iPad, an Austin, Texas-based eloan and home mortgage technology upstart believes the impending launch of its iPad application will be the catalyst for tablet adoption by loan originators.
The MobileLO iPad app is a point of sale application that allows loan officers and brokers to enter the data fields of a Uniform Residential Loan Application (Form 1003), generate a Good Faith Estimate and other federal and state-specific disclosure documents, pull the applicant's credit report and collect electronic signatures.

Apple Lost iPhone Brand In Mexico

Apple may have solved their trademark problems in China, but it appears they may have a bigger problem on its hands south of the U.S. border, as a court in Mexico City has denied an injunction that would have allowed Apple to continue to sell under the iPhone brand because it violates the trademarks of iFone, a Mexican telecommunications company.
